Cranio-sacral therapy is a relatively new concept in non-invasive therapeutic treatment, and it involves a gentle form of manipulation that extends from one end of the spine to the other -- in other words, from the skull to the lower vertebrae that connect to the hips and the tailbone.
It is a form of therapy that relies on focused palpitation and that seeks to regulate the flow of fluid and energy through the spinal cord. Practitioners manipulate the three basic "bodily rhythms" that have been identified in an effort to restore and enhance what is termed the primary respiratory motion. This type of therapy is founded in the belief that healing is enhanced when mind, body and spirit interconnections are acknowledged and tapped.
A Holistic Approach to Wellness
At DuPage Health and Wellness, our entire staff is dedicated to bridging the gap between traditional and alternative medicine in an effort to bring relief and healing to those with conditions and afflictions that have defied "normal" treatment. Our caring doctors are experienced at finding root causes rather than simply treating symptoms and are open to trying new procedures that hold promise for restoring patient health and well-being.
There is some evidence, based on emerging studies, that cranio-sacral therapy might hold such promise for patients who exhibit symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. We also employ acupuncture, massage, reflexology and a variety of specialized treatments, including spinal decompression, in an effort to improve our patients' quality of life and alleviate pain.
Our chiropractic practice was founded in the belief that the body has the ability to heal itself, and that non-invasive treatment to encourage wellness, combined with a determination to improve, can be effective in promoting fitness. We rely on natural processes combined with time-tested therapies to deal with both acute pain and with persistent aches, stiffness and recurring ills, including migraines and some allergic reactions.
Our practitioners are adept at pulling the best aspects of healing techniques from both Western and Oriental medicine; we also embrace exercise and nutritional counseling as components of a healthy lifestyle, and counsel our patients on ways to adjust physical, emotional and mental processes to promote continued well-being.
This comprehensive approach is embraced by our patients; we become partners in the healing process. By utilizing a broad spectrum of restorative therapies, including cranio-sacral Techniques, we believe we point the way to a lasting transformation, rather than just using a "Band-Aid" approach to dealing with the range of environmental, physical and emotional complaints that our patients experience.
Whether your treatment regimen spans a few sessions or continues for weeks or months, we pledge a total commitment to walk with you on that path to wellness. Why not call us to schedule an initial consultation so that, together, we may begin a journey towards increased energy, a bright and optimistic outlook and physical well-being. We look forward to meeting you.
