Benefits of Massage
Swedish - Mostly used as a relaxation therapy. Employs gentle stroking and kneading to muscular tissue.
Deep Tissue - More therapeutic Western style of massage that begins with overall Swedish techniques then gradually introduces deeper and more aggressive techniques in specific problem areas.
Tui Na - Chinese modality based on the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Employs various hand and body movements that are often performed along energy meridian lines of the body. Techniques more from light, quick movements to progressively deeper and more intense and focused application.
Shiatsu - Japanese system of energy bodywork using the Ohashi style. This style involves hand compressions along the meridian lines. Focus is aimed at removing energy blockages in the body. Extremely relaxing and rejuvenating. Great for those with tight, sore muscles.
Thai Massage - Based on a combination of TCM and Ayurvedic principles. Combines some of the hand and body movements of Tui Na with assisted stretching and movement.
